Huck's World

Nov 7th and i had a reasonably good session on blogtv. Two people chatted (which is 2 more than last week...just lurkers then), i had at least someone listening pretty much all the way through it, and i think i had a good time playing...which is the most important thing, i think. I recorded most of the show for people to see and added an intro explaining what i'm about, i then proceeded to make mistakes in nearly every song i played-Sod's Law.

I played for 270 minutes this week...not exactly the 500 i was going for but better than last weekand most weeks to be honest. So,i will be attempting to hit 400 this week to make it attainable.(2610)

A few things to say today.

I got myself a new cover song posted up, Pink Floyd's "Wot's...uh the deal?". I played it through the zoom and also recorded it with the yeti when i recorded the video. When i tried to synch the zoom audio up (with the intention to delete the other audio), the slightly out of synch audios made an effect that was quite similar to the original song...so i kept it....score.

I played on BlogTV.com instead of Livevideo.com. Live video went down for some reason, and so i embedded the blog tv instead. There are a lot more people there and i saw a lot of people jumping in and out of my show. I know i'm shit (i'm playing the recorded show bakc and it's dodgy at best), but i know i can improve and this "trial by fire" i am doing by playing can only be good for my confidence...it's embarassing making mistakes but i know i will endevour to be better knowing i have to play each week.

120 minutes down (2090). This sucks big time, as i'm not getting decent practice at the moment. So, i've decided to set myself a few weekly goals to get me back on track. As it's Wednesday, this week it's going to be an easy one...300 minutes by Sunday night.

I will try and write a new song this week, and if i can post it up before Sunday all the better. I've no time what with work an all to make a video, so we'll have to see how that goes.

That is all for now, i'm off to try and bite into that 300 minutes now. If i can make a decent hole in it, it will make it easier for me to get a video up :)....any ideas for songs or vids are appreciated.

....Oh, and i was thinking of making a standard intro to my songs with an animation and a bit of music. It will be something like "Huck's world Huck's world...Subscribe to my youtube channel and maybe google will give me some money". It has a ring to it, i think.

I just finished playing for 35 mintues on livevideo.com and my lack of practise was really apparent. My playing was shit...ier.

I don't mind really, i'dve been more unhappy if i'd not played atall. As it is i've just playd crap accoustic songs to one or two passrs by rather than being a quiter. I'll need to get myself back into practise and set aside some time for myself to play. I know i played quite a lot Friday night of the barbeque, but everyone was drunk from start time to end....i could've played horse manure and they wouldn'tve given a crap. My kind of audience ;)

I'm trying to add Hotel Yorba to my repertoire (it's just the lyrics that are stopping me). I'll play it every day for a while, that'll drum it into my brain.

Clocked a mere 125 minutes since i last recorded it. I haven't counted any playing i did in America because...well because i cant remember how long i played for really, so i'll just count what i've done since my return and try to get a decen ... Read more »

Time for fucking and fighting...or something like that.

I've managed to throw up two youtube videos and not play on any of them, how lazy is that? I made one video for my friend Phil which is on the "Friend's videos" section, and i made a holiday video which i haven't added here...the power chord to my zoom 4 track recorder had been eaten by the moving house monster, and to be honest i've been too tired to make a decent song for a video lately. I've been sitting here for a while playing my guitar on chatroulette. There are less wankers on than last time i was here and i managed to play a few tunes to normal people. i sweated a bit when they stopped clicking next to listen....but hey, i guess i should be ready for that right?

People were actually watching me tonight!!

I had like 4 or 5 stayers, and people jumping in and out of my live feed. Most of them were actually from the livevideo site itself rather than watching form here but still....woo fuckin hoo. I started alone and then someone started watching...then someone else....then one of them started chatting...then i had like 4 people watching. At this point i was at the end of my first half hour and decided to play on for a while - I ended up playing for 90 minutes then played another couple of tunes while chatting for 30 minutes with some guy from Valleja...it was kinda cool to have people watch/listen and not leave right away, and i think one of the main reasons was my new YETI!


I have got a Blue (brand name) Yeti, which is a professional usb mic. It's actually quite big (maybe a foot tall), and it has really really improved the sound from my live feed. I think it's the main reason people have started sticking around during my shows. ... Read more »

It's Sunday again. I think i'll post here every Sunday from now on. When i come back from holidays i will make Sunday the day to update the site. Sunday is also Beer night for me, the night i usually get drunk at home. This may make for an interesting blog (i've come to terms with the fact that this is actually a blog, no matter how many swears i put in the title link) on the Sundays i work dayshift, i will have to write it after i play and after a couple of beers.

I played on my livefeed when i could this week. The connectivity is really becoming an issue, three days this week i couldn't connect with the livevideo server and had to abandon my attempt to play online. I think i will give up the idea to play live every day. Not only were my fingers hurting like buggery, but it was getting really stale really quickly. First off, i've clocked another 370 minutes practice time (making 1610 so far). I've got my new fangled web cam and i've been playing in front of it most days for at least 30 minutes. I've been going live on the old live feed and playing my wee heart out - to an empty chat room for the most part. This is not really such a bad thing as i've been making some holwers of mistakes, and it's more like live feeding practice sessions than anything worth listening to. I don't mind though, it's all practice and i like doing it so...go me This will be the last time i mention the fact, but i may write 500 words or so on the first time i get more than one viewer at any one time hehe :)

Going live soon. MY web cam has just left the UK (or so my UPS tracking number tells me), and i expect it sometime tomorrow or the Thursday at the latest. My next port of call will be a blog TV type site to play a few covers and get the nerves ready for playing. I will be eventually playing through this site...http://www.livevideo.com...They have a site addonthat i can use to show my stuff,  but i will have to beta test my balls to see if i'm up to it.

I have noticed that i may be playing to an empty room, and i have to whore my videos in my game forums to get people to watch them. Not sure if i feel ok with that, but what can you do? I made a video about a girl called Sarah Shroud, who is currently in prison in Iran where she has been for the last year or so without charge...I think i will make a lot more stuff like this. Well, i've finally broken the 1,000 minute practice marker! 1,091 to be precise, and i hsaved a few off here and there when i didn't write down my start times just so i kept it honest....so, let's round it down to a healthy 1,090 minutes. I will be ramping up my practice as i get closer to going to America to Phil's place> I don't want to be crap if they ask me to play - i want to carry  off anything i try if you will - so i will be trying to make my playing gig ready...which leads me to my next paragraph.


I will be setting up a way to play live on the net and Daemonsin is going to set up my page for me so that people can watch me play live on the site. I will be using a livefeed site that lets you embed your feed to your site, and then adding a chatroom addon under it so that people can chat while they watch.
